Please note that face to face courses signposted in this Directory may be delivered via webinars. Some face to face learning are starting from September. A further review to update the content of this directory will take place after July 2020.
For all carers and social and healthcare support workers within residential, nursing and domiciliary care organisations and in the home, such as:
- people living with conditions, unpaid carers (family, friends), paid carers, volunteers, personal assistants of care
- front line staff in all health and social care environments
- registered front line staff in all health and social care environments including where relevant primary care
This Directory provides access to current priority care courses and learning resources for care provision. The courses and learning resources are those advocated by the Councils (Bedford Borough, Central Bedfordshire, Luton Borough and Milton Keynes), Clinical Commissioning Groups (Bedfordshire, Luton and Milton Keynes) and Bedfordshire Care Group (the BLMK Home Based Care Group partnership) as well as local hospices and charities. All of these courses are those recommended for the learning groups defined in the Directory.
The BLMK Home Based Care partners have recommended the priority courses for training and education that will support local people with their care needs in their preferred place of residence (at home or residential) as being:
- Falls, moving and handling people
- Palliative and End of Life Care
- Tissue Viability, Pressure Ulcers, Wounds, Nutrition & Hydration
The intention of this directory is to provide access to consistent and quality standard learning; to increase the skills and competences of front line adult health and social care staff and improve quality care,
The vision is that all care providers and health and social care staff within BLMK use this directory as an effective tool in planning organisational and personal development.
