Life Hacks A Young Persons’ Social Prescription
Intended audience group: 1
Young people aged 11-19 who would benefit from additional support to improve their social, emotional, or physical health and wellbeing.
Life Hacks is a Young Persons Social Prescription service led by Active Luton. The programme has grown in recent years due to its success, securing local and national funding to expand. Life Hacks is aimed at children and young people from age 11 to 19 years who would benefit from additional support to improve their social, emotional, or physical health and wellbeing.
Each child or young person referred to Life Hacks will have their own dedicated Link Worker who will provide support and coordinate access to different activities in the community for up to 12 weeks, for example physical activity, social or support groups, creative groups, education or training opportunities or advice from specialist services. The aim is to improve their health and wellbeing, social connectedness and have a positive impact on their life chances.
In March 2021, Life Hacks was the winner of the Social Prescribing Network and College of Medicine Awards for the Best Children and Young People Social Prescribing Project.
