Clinical Advisor

Clinical advisors are responsible for the assessment of the health and clinical needs of patients who call 111, utilising their clinical judgement to provide advice, signpost to appropriate care and treatment or to escalate to 999 services, supported by decision support software.

As someone who has direct contact with NHS 111 patients, you will use your skills to assess and deliver care to patients in a contact centre, providing health information, guidance on the appropriate level of care and advice on how to manage symptoms at home.

You must be able to work effectively in a team and have a commitment to providing excellent patient care.

Entry requirements

You will need to hold a professional clinical qualification and active registration with the relevant regulator, for example a paramedic registered with the HCPC.
