Apprentice-Physiotherapy Support Worker

We are currently seeking two people to join us as apprentices  in our Community Reablement and Step Up/Step Down teams which support people as they leave an acute hospital to recover and rehabilitate following an episode of reduced health, mobility, and wellbeing.  Whatever your background whether it be hospitality, administration, retail or anything else, we want to hear from you as transferable skills are invaluable when you are working with people.   These roles are part of a new and exciting rotational apprenticeship program across a network of various Health and Social Care providers in Bedfordshire.  You will be earning whilst you are learning with support from dedicated and experienced professionals, either as a Physiotherapy or Occupational Therapy Support Worker.  The rotational element of this program will help you gain a wide range of skills and experience, in a diverse range of settings (care homes, acute hospitals, hospices and community nursing/therapy teams), whilst working towards a Level 3 Senior Healthcare Support Worker apprenticeship.   About the role You will be supporting our residents to recover and rehabilitate through a diverse range of interventions which can range from the prescription, issuing and guidance to use new mobility aids, supporting and encouraging people to safely care for themselves, promotion and delivery of therapeutic exercise programs, helping people to adjust to life following major or life changing surgery, writing reports and updating records and supporting people to make decisions around their onward care and support needs.   The Apprenticeship By participating in our apprenticeship program as a Senior Healthcare Support Worker, you will open doors to numerous exciting career paths within the health and social care industry. This program serves as a springboard for your professional growth and offers a solid foundation for your future career.   Upon successful completion of the apprenticeship, you will be equipped with valuable experience, skills, and knowledge that will make you a competitive candidate for a wide range of health and social care roles. Whether you choose to pursue a career as a Social Worker, Nursing Assistant, Mental Health Support Worker, Therapy Assistant, or explore other health and social care professions, our apprenticeship program will set you on the right track.   What we will do for you

  • Support you to achieve the knowledge, skills and behaviours required for your apprenticeship
  • Experienced assessor and mentor to assess your work and practice
  • Individual learning programme tailored to your own needs
  • E-learning, training, and monthly tutorials specific to your apprenticeship
  • A minimum of 20% paid time to be used for learning and development opportunities
  • Provide you with a range of employee benefits including paid leave for 24 days per year, retailer benefits, employee assistance programme, access to excellent in-house training and the opportunity to join the Local Government Pension Scheme
  Important Information Maths and English GCSEs at grade A* to C or 4 to 9 are desirable but not essential.
