The theme for Black History Month 2022 is “Time for Change: Action Not Words”.  To get to a better tomorrow we can’t just focus on the past.  The past is in the past.  We can acknowledge and learn from it, but to improve the future we need action, not words.  We need to come together around a shared common goal to achieve a better world for everyone.

This event will acknowledge the amazing and inspiring contribution of black people from within the fire and rescue service and outside who have helped to shape society in so many ways and who have built on the work of their black predecessors. There will be a pre-summit dinner on Wednesday 26 October 2022 (19:00 till late).  On Thursday 27 October 2022 the summit will be held from 09:30 – 16:00.
