The government has announced significant reforms to transform adult social care, including immediate investment and the establishment of an independent commission led by Louise Casey, Baroness Casey of Blackstock, DBE, CB. It is a once in a generation opportunity, transcending party politics to engage in genuine debate on how we can deliver a National Care Service, ensuring all voices are heard and putting those with lived experience at the heart.

The government is also committed to short-term progress. This includes taking forward a range of initiatives this year, including funding more home adaptations, promoting better use of care technologies, and professionalising the adult social care workforce.
