Aims and Objectives

This session explores the role of personal health budgets (PHBs) as a means of offering people greater choice and control over the care and support they receive. It will identify those groups with the legal right to hold a PHB and the key features which help to differentiate PHBs from other healthcare planning arrangements. Later, it will investigate how the money in a PHB can and cannot be spent and offer guidance on the steps involved in implementing and maintaining a PHB.
